Transforming Lives by Combatting the Global Hunger Crisis

Malnutrition is a silent epidemic that claims the lives of children every few minutes. This crisis does not stem from war or natural disasters, but from a lack of access to basic nutritional needs. While early efforts to combat this issue began fourteen years ago in Africa, research revealed that the most severe cases of hunger were concentrated in Asia, specifically within Afghanistan and Pakistan.

In response to this global emergency, the Rotary Club of St. Catharines South (Canada) founded the Trust for Malnutrition and Stunted Growth (TMSG) in 2018. Our organization is dedicated to creating a sustainable and replicable model designed to protect the most vulnerable populations: children under five, pregnant women, and lactating mothers.

Core Organizational Philosophy

Our work is guided by a clear commitment to sustainable health and community empowerment.

Our Mission:
Eradicating Malnutrition

To combat malnutrition by providing therapeutic food, empowering communities, and advocating for sustainable solutions.

Our Vision:
A Healthier Future for All

A world where no child suffers from malnutrition, and every community has the tools to lead healthy, resilient lives

Our Transparency:
Your Trust, Our Priority

We are committed to full transparency, ensuring every dollar donated goes directly toward life saving interventions for malnourished children.

Our Strategic Approach to Eradication

TMSG operates as a movement driven by data and volunteerism rather than a traditional NGO.
We prioritize transparency and direct impact through several key pillars:

Therapeutic Nutrition

We provide Ready to Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) that meets WHO and UNICEF standards.

Clinic Empowerment

We equip local facilities with training and resources for long term healthcare solutions.

Integrated Health Solutions

By addressing sanitation, hygiene, and clean water access, we reduce infections that  exacerbate malnutrition

Community Partnerships

We collaborate with entities such as UNICEF Pakistan, Allah Walay Trust, and Aga Khan University Hospital.

Malnutrition Is the Root of Everything.

✔ Brain Damage Before Age Five
Malnutrition permanently impairs cognitive development. Lost brain cells never return.

✔Weak Immunity, Preventable Deaths
Malnourished children die from infections they were vaccinated against.

✔ Education Fails Without Nutrition
A hungry brain cannot learn. Schools cannot fix malnutrition.

“Until we fix malnutrition, education will remain a dream built on a cracked foundation.”
— Najeeb Syed

Interventions

UNIMMAP
Maternal Nutritional Support

The United Nations International Multiple Micronutrient Antenatal Preparation (UNIMMAP) is a specialized multiple micronutrient supplement (MMS) formulated to meet the elevated nutritional requirements of women during pregnancy and the lactation period.

RUTF
Ready to Use Therapeutic Food

Ready to Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) is a life saving nutritional intervention designed specifically for the treatment of Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) in children under the age of five. It is a medical grade, energy dense paste that allows for “Community Based Management,” meaning children can be treated at home rather than in a hospital.

Nutr MV:
Pediatric Micronutrient Syrup

Nutr MV is a specialized multivitamin formulation provided to children under the age of five to address “hidden hunger”—the deficiency of vital micronutrients that may not be visible as starvation but severely hinders growth.
