In July 2025, the Trust for Malnutrition and Stunted Growth, with the support of UNICEF, organized a comprehensive training session on Community-Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM). The session was held on July 31 at the Memon Medical Institute Hospital in Karachi.
The primary objective of this training was to standardize care and enhance the technical skills of healthcare workers and doctors from our various partner organizations. Participants received specialized instruction on:
01
Identification: Accurate screening and diagnosis of acute malnutrition and stunting.
02
Treatment: Implementation of standardized medical and nutritional protocols, including the use of therapeutic foods.
03
Prevention: Strategies for community-based counseling to reduce the incidence of growth failure in children.
This initiative ensured that all personnel across our collaborative network are equipped with the latest international guidelines to effectively manage malnutrition.
